“Accelerated learning” – again.

We continue to move forward.  But.

Are we going in the right direction?

I firmly believe that we need a new school.  A competitive entity to private school offerings, and along the lines of a Royal West or Vincent Massey.

When a family is looking for what school their child is going to go to, they are looking at a *school* – the whole package.  The culture of the school.  The behavioral aspects. The academics of it, obviously, but I would almost say that the academics of it are “expected”.

Should we be looking at a PPP to develop one?  Should we be looking to partner privately?  Should we consider partnering with a French schoolboard and make a hybrid, high-achievers bilingual school?

I wish we could spend the time and focus on these questions.

I don’t want to lose the momentum we have built for this either.  But at the same time, if we’re going to do it, we really need to do it right.

Truly,

Steve

The admissions process…

Well, it sure seemed like it wasn’t going to be a great school board week.

Calls the past few days on the admissions process, and specifically as regards to an adoption and the inherent rights that should pass from the adoptive parents to their children.

Even though the whole thing started out messy, I couldn’t ask for a faster or better response from a bunch of people at the board.

I can complain, and I can give kudos where kudos are due.  This one?  Once again, school organization seems thorough, thoughtful and really caring about the situation, and again, I don’t see how it could have been handled better.

Steve

A new school year begins!

And it all starts anew…  🙂

Executive committee tonight and the ball gets rolling once again.  At that, we’ve already had calls and meetings prior to tonight’s meeting.  It’s good to get back into it – even though it seems like we just left too.

Looking forward to a good year for all.

Truly,

Steve
