Welcome to my Blog!

My name is Steve Mitchell and I am a commissioner in the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board.

The Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board is the third largest English school board of the Province of Québec, in Canada. Its territory comprises the administrative regions of Laval, Lanaudière, and the Laurentides, spanning over 35 000 square kilometers. The student population is over 15 000 students, attending classes in 26 elementary schools and 10 secondary schools.

I represent Ward 7, comprised of the following territories: Blainville (V), Boisbriand (V), Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines (V), Sainte-Thérèse (V), also including part of the City of Terrebonne bounded by the City of Laplaine

I was elected in November 2007 and will serve a four year mandate.

New website

I have decided to change this blog from a “static website” format to a Blog using WordPress – I hope that you like the changes, and I also hope that you will use the “comment” feature on WordPress, allowing your comments to be shared with the world and not just me!

Thanks for visiting and as always, I look forward to hearing from you.

An interesting new addition is this polling feature – I hope we can successfully run several polls… starting with this one!

The views expressed in this website are those of its author – me, Steve Mitchell – just one of twenty-one Commissioners in the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board. These views may be shared by some and may seem alien to others; they are not intended as anything but my single insight into what goes on at our School Board. Please keep this in mind, and please contact other commissioners for their insights. A list of Commissioners can be found by clicking here.
