“She said the cuts were getting closer to affecting classrooms.”

I appreciate the effort, but…

Cuts in education funding have been affecting classrooms for YEARS already.  It does a disservice to suggest that we are “closer to affecting classrooms” when every single cut takes away from dollars that should be spent on our kids and on our schools.

And while we’re at it – it’s interesting to hear that we’re considering school tax hikes. As a Commissioner speaking at a Council meeting just 3 days ago, I was not calling for hiking our taxes – I was calling for a unified tax rate for the entire province, and an equal distribution of the taxes collected.  Oh – any by unifying it, we would also save MILLIONS OF DOLLARS in duplication of efforts and bureaucratic controls.

Howzabout we start fixing the real problems, like this ridiculous and wholly unfair tax system?

Truly,

Steve
