A former parent commissioner, still passionate about education, passed this article from Macleans on to me this week.
If this is the University setting that our students will be going in to, are we doing all we can do to prepare them for it?
And are we integrating technology as best we can into our schools today?
A student who misses a few days at school – wouldn’t it be great if that student could keep up by listening to podcasts of the classes that they missed? Seeing the rubrics and associated notes that could be collaborative, and instantly online?
Never mind just “keep up” – could that student even contribute?
If our job in high school includes preparation for schooling beyond these high school walls, isn’t using technology a great big part of what we need to be doing?
It’s a great article to read.
